School-owned devices¶
If WRA issued the device, you don't need to do anything. It receives its certificate and the WRA-Secure settings automatically through the school's device management, and it moves to WRA-Secure on its own.
What you'll notice¶
- WRA MacBooks and iPads: at some point the Wi-Fi switches from WRA to WRA-Secure. You might be asked for your Mac password once if the change lands while you're logged in. No other prompts.
- WRA Windows laptops: same thing. The laptop connects to WRA-Secure even before anyone signs in, so it works at the login screen.
If a school device is still on the old WRA network in January, tell the Technology office. It should have switched long before then and we'll want to look at it.
If a school device asks you to "Select a certificate for network WRA-Secure"¶
Click Cancel and let the Technology office know which device it is. This isn't something you can fix from the device, and it tells us the setup on our side needs attention.
New or reimaged school devices¶
These are set up by the Technology office before they're handed out. Nothing for you to do.
